The Mindset to Immediate and Lasting Happiness

There are two essential and opposite ways of looking at things. In the first instance, you can find a place in the shade and play your pan pipe as the days go by. In the second, you can find a shovel and hoe and work as the days go by. In which is there to be found true joy?

The first view is called the pastoral view. It is stress free and fun. the pastoral view is free from all the pains that the opposite view has: it knows no short handled shovels, axes, saws, or picks, it only knows what the heart wants now, and what it wants is to relax and care nor toil not.

The second view is called the georgic view. It is full of thistles and thorns. The georgic view is burdened with bails of hay, sacks of grain, and pails of milk, all of which needs year round work to maintain and to grow. Tools are better known by the georgic view than pan pipes. The georgic view is always concerned with what the heart will want tomorrow, and therefore work is required. A georgic view will not be satisfied unless work is always in the process.

It is said that ignorance is bliss, but somewhere else itsays the second mouse gets the cheese, do you suppose that the first mouse was ignorant of the trap? Is an early death considered bliss? Therefore, in the georgic view all happiness can be found… but the georgic view would say A watched pot never boils, but All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy… and that is not happiness either.

I believe a combination of the two is the beat rout to take to arrive at happiness. While in the pastoral view lies immediate happiness, the refrigerator will be empty; whereas, while the georgic view has a well stocked fridge, it is always trying to work harder and acquire more and it will not ever be happy because happiness is a luxury that is always in the future. Therefore a harmonious combination will have the beat results.

The best merger of the two views is to work georgic and to live pastoral, that way the refrigerator is full and one can be content and happy now. happiness should be found amidst the thistles because you have a pair of sheers. Happiness should also be found asleep in the hay because a hard days work justify it. This is a better formula for happiness then each alone.
