A republic is not the mess our red tie wearing politicians would invent, please, spare the world of such machinations. "Republicans" today are just conservative, politico statists (contrasted with how the "Democrats" are liberal, politico statists.) So when I refer to a republican education, I am not founding some charter school where the principal is George W. Bush, when I write about a republican education. What is meant be republican education is the idea that government is not an entity unto itself, but rather the combined governments of individuals, thereby implying that a republican education is a semi-autonymous form, designed by the individuals to justly promote personal sovereignty and wealth.
A republican education clearly instills republican values of independence and self-reliance when it comes to scholastics. A student, instead of being dependent on bad schools, bad teachers, bad parents and bad friends, is completely free and independent to forge his own knowledge and craft his own skills. A student with a republican education is responsible for who he is and will be. Whereas the opposite is true for the student under a principality, where, the student is the measure of his school.
The ends of a republican education is not to obtain a higher place in the principality's machine. A republican minded person does not educate himself because he wants to serve the prince as a clerk instead of a swineherd! A republican education works towards the republican's personal well-being, the well-being of his community, his estate, and his liberty.
Education that creates and sustain republics differ at a fundamental level to that kind of education that exists and self-perpetuates in a principality. Whereas the education of a principality engenders dependent, servile subjects, the education of a republic consists of independent, autonomous citizens. Education in a principality differs from that known by a republic in that no one is the school czar. A republic has no universal curriculum, nor are students forced to fit a mold; rather, a republican education is primarily self driven by the student, taking into account the desires of his immediate community of family and friends.
