One of the pitfalls when considering and meditating over politics is to sink into petty political skirmishes and strifes. Oftentimes one fails to be able to see the forest for the trees as they navigate the political environment. One becomes dogmatic with their views, refusing to allow new or improved ideas enter their consideration. In extreme cases people get so caught up with a specific political personality or party or idea that they become stagnant and paltry. This is a trap… the politico trap.
This snare is alluring, like well aged cheese pined to a mouse trap. The rhetoric of contemporary politics presents itself as if it is the most noble tree on the hill, with all worshiping it's grandeur and elevated ideals, when if fact, it's just another den of professional demagogues motivated more by power and dinner parties than their duty to their respective republics.
The true spirit of patriotism becomes paved over by politico nationalism in the heart of the person who mistakenly fall into this devised trap. They start to sing "Ohh Rah" for our side as national unity, morality, and economy slip away forgotten.
